He served 21 years as a United State Marine with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant when he retired in 1971, and worked at Southern California Edison from 1975- May, 1995, 20 years. He is survived by his five children, Deidra M. Obermoeller (Gary), Retanya J. Collins, Shaira Hendricks (Joe), Phillip A. Collins, and Trimel C. Collins, and his brother, Edward Collins (Rita),(1) niece, Jasmine Collins, and (13) grandchildren, Ronnie W. Harrell, Woodrow Otis, III, Seanna Carroll, Veronica Andria Mamie Otis, Tiffany Henderson, Phillip A. Collins,II, William (Will) L. Collins, Mamie J. Collins, Alicia Collins, Taylor S. Willie enjoyed playing golf, playing solitaire online and Bid Whist, watching sports and spending time with family. He volunteered with the Navy Golf Course in Seal Beach and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Montford Marines as the Financial Secretary. A final salute to Topcat, a Proud Marine!

My brother was a very protective brother. That carried over to protecting his kids. His career as a marine was cut short when he had to decide to be transferred to another assignment or stay and care for his five children...he made the right decision by retiring from his love of being a Marine. He always has been a Marine and even in death, he remains a Marine. Love you big brother
Edward Collins, aka Uncle Pete
