Thelma Loraine Foster McKusker, 92, born on January 8, 1926, in North Hollywood, California, passed away June 16, 2018. She resided in North Hollywood, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.
She grew up in Hollywood down the block from Paramount Studios, around the corner from her friend Clark Gable and attended Hollywood High School with many stars to be. This fueled her life long passion for the movies and the stage.
Thelma was always available to help whether it was a stray dog following a trail of chocolate chip cookies home or a random kid that just needed someone to talk to. She was always there when her family needed her. She stayed active in the PTA and school activities, was a Girl Scout Leader (oh those girls and cookies), volunteered with the Police Department, loved Broadway musicals and was a great cook. Her sourdough english muffins were amazing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and most recently her beloved dog Riviera. She is survived by her four children Liza, Tina, Richard and Timothy, four grandchildren Kelly, Courtney, Anne and Ryan, and five great grandchildren Kiarah, Tyson, Riley, Lucas and Nora. When asked who her favorite child was her answer was always. . . The one that needs me. She will surely be missed.
Thelma requested that there be no services. In lieu of flowers I'm sure it would please her for any donations to go to either Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Blvd, Sylmar, CA 91342 ( in remembrance of Riviera or to Valley Food Bank, PO Box 8073, Van Nuys, CA 91409-8073 ( which she supported regularly.
