Richard Lewis "Dick" Prochnow, 77, passed away on January 5, 2018 at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. after complications from a year-long battle with cancer. On his passing, his wife Susan Reilly was by his side, as she had been since the day they wed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Prochnow. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Tyler and Courtney; his daughter-in-law, Ann; and two grandchildren, Connor and Sophia. Richard was an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. He launched what would become the world's largest independent seller and servicer of magazine subscriptions. Over the years, Prochnow started and nurtured numerous other business ventures, but his roots always remained in the magazine world. His greatest gift was bringing a smile to everyone he came in contact with. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. He was a life master and played in tournaments around the world. A celebration of life service will be held at Forest Lawn Cathedral City on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cavalry Children's Home, 1430 Lost Mountain Road, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127. (770) 794-1500.
