Joe Harold Schricker, 70, was born on April 30, 1946, in Pasadena, California. He spent the first years of his life in California, then when he was nine moved to South Dakota. Joe relished small town life and his years on the farm. He attended college at South Dakota State University and after graduating took a job with Douglas Aircraft. He married JoAnn in 1972 and they lived for 39 years in Cerritos, California. Joe and JoAnn have two children: Jeffrey and Jessica, followed by 7 grandchildren.

Numbers were a passion for him and after retiring, he worked at Tax Resources doing tax notices. It was almost like a paid hobby for him.

He and JoAnn loved to travel. They took the kids and a fifth wheel trailer on road trips through all fifty states. Joe never wanted to go on the same road twice. After retirement, he and JoAnn started traveling the world, traveling to all the continents, except one. Their last trip was to the Holy Land. A difficult journey, due to his illness, Joe perservered and JoAnn will have loving memories of that holy time.

He passed away on April 29, 2017, one day shy of his 71st birthday from complications of Vasculitis. He was loving, kind, dedicated husband, father, son brother, grandfather. You could never take the small town farm boy out of him. Kind, hardworking, down-to-earth, he was everyone's friend.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn, son Jeffrey (Shannon), daughter Jessica (Andy) Hugen. Grandchildren: Samantha, Austin, Trey, Quinn, Crew, Knox and newst addition: Jeffrey Joe. Also survived by his brother, sister, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Joe loved the Lord Jesus Christ and is now pain free. He's probably on a tractor riding through some Heavenly wheat field . His earthly body will be laid to rest in Cypress, California. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
