Jaime Paunlagui Perez, 62, born on October 29, 1955, in Manila, Philippines, passed away May 5, 2018. He resided in Spring, Texas, at the time of his passing. His parents were Armando Razon Perez and Perserveranda Manabat Paunlagui. He is survived by his wife, Maria Bernardita "Bot" Abulencia; his daughter, Alena Perez; his daughter and spouse, Celina and Matt Clement; grandson, Rhys Clement; and his siblings and their spouses, Marilou and Dennis Lanceta, Mel and Arlene Perez, Tina Perez, and Merle Perez and Dave Kubicek. He had six nephews and nieces, Michael and Melissa Lanceta, Leilani Mayezaki, Robert and Daniel Perez, and Catherine Perez, and his grandnephew Kekoa. He will also be missed by his mother in-law Mercedes Abulencia; his sisters-in-law Aurora, Alicia, Merla, and Magdelena; his brother-in-law, Jun; and nieces Lizbeth, Kay, Karisse, and Yanna.

Jaime moved to Los Angeles from Brunei with his family while he was in elementary school. Eventually, his family moved to Cerritos, California where he was part of the first graduating class of Cerritos High School. He went on to receive his chemical engineering degree from California State University, Long Beach. After graduating, he lived in various cities including Garden City, Kansas; Colorado Spring, CO; Diamond Bar, CA; and Apple Valley, CA. In 1992, he moved to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia to work for Saudi Aramco as a Pipeline Specialist where he met several life-long friends. While in Dhahran, Jaime met Bot through the Entablado Filipino, and they were married in 2002. They enjoyed entertaining friends, traveling the world, and spending time with their families. Jaime and Bot retired in 2014 to Spring, TX where became parishioners of St. Simon and Jude Church in the Woodlands, TX.

Jaime enjoyed a wide array of hobbies including tennis, theater, church choir, golf, traveling, scuba diving, and fine dining. He focused his life on spending time with his family with traveling very often to the Philippines, Las Vegas, and California to be with family. He was a generous person who enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh and will be missed dearly by family and friends.

As a shepherd of the Lord, Jaime now joins his creator.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
