J.D. (John David) Ziska, 35, was born on June 5, 1982, (sharing his birthday with his grandfather: Frank "The Bear" Ziska) in Arcadia, California, to his parents John and Terry (Therese McGuire) Ziska. He was a star quarterback and safety in high school and throughout college, including the University of La Verne. J.D.'s passions included real estate, travel, and sports of any kind. J.D. turned acquaintances into friends and then family wherever he went, whether they met at Santa Anita Park or across the world in his travels abroad. J.D. will be remembered for his love of family and friends. J.D. had a heart of gold and was well loved.

He passed away on July 1, 2017. A service for J.D. will be held Friday, July 7, at 1:00 in the chapel at the Douglass & Zook funeral home, Monrovia, California.
