Betty J. Ayling, a long time resident of Orange County, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 early on July 30, 2017 in Buena Park, CA. Born to parents Merl K. and Rena Lucille Lott on August 10, 1928 in Perrinton, Michigan, Betty was one of nine children. She grew up in Alma, Michigan, where she met the love of her life Robert (Bob) Ayling in 10th grade, and they married on October 21, 1945.

They continued living in Alma, raising three children, Robert Jr., William, and Barbara, until moving to Buena Park in 1973 when Bob began a new job in California. Sadly, Bob passed in 1977 after a short illness. Over the years, Betty worked as a waitress and a grocery clerk in Michigan, and later as a supply clerk for a medical laboratory in California.

Betty leaves behind children William of Nevada, and Barbara of California. She is also survived by sisters Nelda of Michigan and Norma of California; grandchildren Heather, William, Rebecca, and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Piper, Cameron, Allyson, Jayson, Dalton, Landon, Maddox, Sterling, Zachary, Sydney, and Isabelle; and great-great-grandchildren, Phoenix, Ariadne, and Savanna. Betty also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by husband Robert Sr., son Robert Jr., brothers Francis, Gerald, Kenneth, and Bernard, and sisters Margaret and Donna. A private graveside service has been scheduled.
