Still think that at least once a week to call Carmen to check on races. Can not help it. Force of habit. Still miss my old friend. God rest his soul.

I interviewed Carmen on the Normandy battlefield on June 6th, 1984 for a video I produced, 'D-Day + 40 Years'. He led a group of vets back there many times. Back in LA, where I lived for thirty three years, I was a regular at Joe's shop and we were golf pals. Carmen would come in and we would enjoy a couple of drinks and many a great story. My dad passed away at 93, October 29, '85. His WW1

What an amazing man and awesome contribution to our society. I went to school with Jim at Notre Dame High, and would stop at Miceli's to order food and had birthdays there. My prayers to the Miceli family

It is amazing how quickly you became part of our lives in such a short time. My only regret is that we didn't record you and your many stories. You lit up when you told some of your stories. You will be so very missed by both Clarke and myself and thank you for the music, laughter and friendship.

Carmen was a warm and friendly gentleman that will be missed everyday. He used to come and see us at The Drinkers Hall of Fame while they were preparing his supper next door at Matt Denny's, and before he ordered his drink, he always asked me "What are you doing for New Year's Eve?" "Do you want a date?" He knew that always made me laugh. I have the utmost respect for Carmen, not only for his accomplishments, but also for being my friend. It is with a heavy heart, that I say farewell until we meet again my friend.

I'm sure there are many that considered Mr. Miceli to be their best friend. I know that my father, Frank Klaus felt that way about him. Not only was Carmen Miceli the hippest cat alive he was also probably the most soulful. A close (adult) friend of mine met Carmen at my dad's "second line"-style memorial service, and at the end of the day said: "When I grow up, I want to BE Carmen." My husband, Stephen and I will

Carmen was simply "one of a kind" and I will always love and cherish him. My memories are too many for words but we traveled the world together, I had my wedding party in the basement of his Hollywood restaurant and he meant the world to me. He was a great man and a legend. He will be greatly missed. RIP Carmen.

I was very close to pianist Bill Miller and took care of Bill's house from 1991- his passing in 2006. Bill introduced me to Carmen at the very beginning of our friendship and I grew to love Carmen, he was a wonderful man and Bill, guitarist Al Viola and I spent many night together hanging out with Carmen, beautiful memories I'll have with me all of my life. Someday I hope to see Bill, Al & Carmen, I'm sure they'll
